Mrs. Angie Brandenburg

I was a full-time mom for eleven years until I decided to work outside my home!  I now teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts, English and Literature.  Not only am I a teacher at SBS, I am also an SBS alumna!  Further, my dad attended SBS and my mother taught at SBS for eleven years!  I have two boys, Bradley, 16, and Clayton, 7.

I graduated from FSCC in 1987 with an A.S. degree in Education, and from TSUM in 2005, with a B.S. degree in Professional Studies.  I am currently in my fifth year of teaching at SBS, and I love it!  My interest in the subjects that I teach and for the students is actually quite natural for me and truly is my passion. I believe learning and knowledge are two-fold:  emotional and intellectual.  With the proper setting and attitude, both can be achieved.  It is always my goal to help students achieve both, simultaneously, yet somewhat anonymously.  In the end, maturity and intellect coincide and ultimately, great knowledge and insight are gained.

I enjoy doing so many things that I don’t have enough time to do them all!  Just to name a few, though,  I love to cook and bake, garden, fish and hunt, read, write, shop, and spend time with friends and family!  In addition, music is probably one of the single most significant motivators for me.  It is encouragement for me when there isn’t enough goodness to go around!  In general, most of my days are fantastic ones, and I believe that procrastination is one of the biggest thieves of time. I also believe that enthusiasm is critical in life for success and that a smile costs nothing, but gives much!  Finally, two of my favorite quotes are:  1) Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm, by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and 2) Imagination is more important than knowledge, by Albert Einstein.
