St. Benedict Catholic School Receives Generous Donation from Annual Coastal Clays Fundraiser

May 5th, 2021 (Elberta, Alabama) – St. Benedict Catholic School (SBCS) is the proud recipient of a generous donation made by the Coastal Clays Board of Directors. Directors Tim Mullek, Bryan Neth, Terri Cowles, and Gary Cowls recently visited St. Benedict Catholic School to present Dr. Kathy McCool, Principal of SBCS, with a check for $15,000.

Each year Coastal Clays hosts a sporting clay fundraiser that raises money for the Baldwin County Catholic Community. The 4th Annual Coastal Clays fundraiser was held on March 27th at Mullek Farms in Robertsdale, Alabama, and raised $67,000 for charity. Archbishop Thomas Rodi came out to bless the event, and over 112 participants enjoyed a fun-filled day of friendly competition, great food, and fellowship.

“The $15,000 means the world to our little private school,” said Dr. McCool. “We are so thankful to the volunteers, sponsors, participants, and Board of Directors for making the Coastal Clays fundraiser possible.”

Tim Mullek is one of several individuals responsible for starting the annual event, which was modeled after the High Cotton Classic in South Carolina. “Four years in – and we have already given away more than $150,000 to the Catholic Community. Out of all the things I have done in my life, this has been one of the most rewarding. And in fifty years, I hope it’s still going,” he said.

The 5th Annual Coastal Clays event will once again be held at Mullek Farms in Robertsdale, Alabama, and will take place on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022. For more information, visit www.coastalclays.org.
